Your First Semester Starts Here

Complete your required tasks, explore important resources and stay on track as you get ready to join the Montclair community.

Every student has different next steps. Choose the checklist that matches your student type and follow it throughout the onboarding process.

Choose the checklist that matches how you're joining Montclair.

Whether you're a first-year, transfer, graduate, international, online or EOF student, there's an Orientation program designed for you.

  • First-year students will complete the First-Year Schedule Questionnaire as part of their New Student Checklist before receiving their first semester schedule.
  • Transfer, graduate, international and many other students may work directly with an academic advisor to register for classes. Be sure to follow your New Student Checklist and any communications from your academic program for specific instructions.

Upload your student ID photo before arriving on campus so your card is ready for pickup at Orientation or at the ID Card Office.

  • Weeks of Welcome: Wednesday, August 19 - Monday, September 7
  • Red Hawk Day: Thursday, August 27
  • First Day of Classes: Friday, August 28 (Follow your Monday class schedule)
