Getting Around Campus
Whether you are driving, taking public transit, or moving between classes, there are plenty of ways to get to and around! Here’s everything you need to know to make your commute easier.
Parking on Campus
With 16 parking locations, including an eight-story parking deck, commuters have plenty of options when arriving at campus.
- A parking permit is required for all students.
- Permits are virtual and linked to your license plate.
- Make sure your vehicle information is up to date.

Citations can be paid or appealed online within 21 days of issuance.
Campus Shuttles
Shuttle Services are available to help you move around campus, especially from outer parking lots like Lot 60. Track shuttles in real time using the TripShot app and have access to multiple stops across campus!
Public Transportation (NJ Transit)
Montclair is served by two on-campus train stations and multiple bus routes, making commuting easy without a car.

- The train line that runs through campus is the Montclair Boonton line
- Montclair State University Station, near the Village
- Montclair Heights Station, near Panzer Hall
Bus Access
