Campus Recreation offers a variety of equipment you can borrow for free with your Montclair State University ID. Whether you're working out in the facility, planning a trip or just looking to try something new, we’ve got you covered.

Equipment Checkout

Stop by Equipment Checkout to borrow items for use inside the Student Recreation Center.

  • Free for students with a valid University ID
  • Available during facility hours
  • Items must be returned before leaving

You can also purchase select items at Equipment Checkout. Cash, credit and Apple / Google Pay are accepted.

Hawk on Wheels Bike Program

Hawk on Wheels is Campus Recreation’s bike lending program, offering a fun, affordable way to get around, stay active and reduce your carbon footprint. 

How It Works

  1. Reserve your bike
  2. Schedule a time to pick up the bike and sign the waiver
  3. Enjoy the bike for your selected and approved borrowing time!
  4. Return the bike by the due date

Bike Sizing Guide

  • Small (14.5") – 5'3" and under
  • Medium (16.5") – 5'3"–5'5"
  • Large (18") – 5'6"–5'11"
  • Extra Large (21") – 5'11" and taller

Bike Rules

Bike rentals are free if returned on time, but late returns may result in fees. After one week late, bikes are considered lost and fees will be charged to your account

Replacement Fees

  • Bike (lost or stolen): $368.00
  • Helmet: $20.00
  • Lock/Cable/Light: $10.00 each

Please Note: Broken components due to abuse will be billed at actual replacement cost. Bikes are due back by Student Recreation Center closing on the date your lending term ends.
