Looking to stay active, compete and have fun without a major time commitment? Intramural Sports offers leagues and events for Montclair State University students of all skill levels.
Play Intramural Sports!
Intramural Sports are open to all Montclair State University students and include a variety of leagues such as men’s, women’s, organization teams and open (gender-inclusive) play.
Games are typically held Sunday through Thursday evenings at locations across campus, including the Student Recreation Center Gym and DioGuardi Field.
Participating is Easy
- Register on Fusion Play and join a team roster
- Pay before you play in the Student Recreation Center, Main Office or on Fusion ($10.00 per player or $60.00 per organization team)
- Bring your Montclair State University ID to every game

Season and Gameplay
Seasons typically run 4–6 weeks, including playoffs, with schedules based on team availability. Teams must maintain good sportsmanship to qualify for playoffs. If your team cannot attend a game, notify staff in advance to avoid a forfeit and protect your eligibility.
If your team wins a championship, eligible players receive an Intramural Champion T-shirt and campus bragging rights.
Rules and Eligibility
- Participants must be eligible members of the Montclair State University community and follow all Intramural Sports guidelines.
- NCAA athletes may not compete in their primary sport
- Players can join multiple teams if they are in different leagues
- Sportsmanship ratings impact playoff eligibility
- Misconduct, forfeits or policy violations may result in suspension
