A proud graduate of Montclair State University, Chief Fox has served the University community for over two decades, beginning his career in 2004 and rising through every rank of the department.

Throughout his tenure, Chief Fox has played a key role in strengthening campus safety, improving departmental operations, and building strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Chief Fox is a graduate of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) / West Point Command and Leadership Academy and the FBI’s Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MALEEDS). He remains committed to preparing the department to meet both current and future challenges in campus law enforcement through strategic planning, officer development, and community engagement.

He is extremely proud to work alongside a diverse group of professionals and students in police, dispatch, EMS, and Emergency Management who have chosen a service-oriented path here at our home on campus.

Bloomfield Campus Safety

On the Bloomfield campus, the Office of Safety is committed to maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment. The department provides 24/7 campus security through foot patrols, building access monitoring and parking enforcement.

Security officers respond to routine and emergency situations on campus; however, they do not have arrest authority. Emergency response is provided by Bloomfield Township Police, Fire and EMS, while criminal investigations are conducted by the Montclair State University Police Department in partnership with local law enforcement agencies.
