Graduate Orientation
Welcome to Montclair State University!
Graduate Orientation will help you prepare for graduate-level expectations, understand important academic resources, and get familiar with the support available to you throughout your first semester. Below is a preview of the sessions available. Please note that some orientations are required for new students to maintain their enrollment status.
Graduate School 101
Get a clear overview of graduate school expectations, academic policies, program requirements, and key resources. Attend a live virtual session on August 18 & 19 or watch the recording asynchronously.
Who should attend: Highly recommended for all new graduate students.
Foundations of Graduate Student Success
Join us in person on August 27 for a session focused on academic integrity, research standards and practical strategies for graduate school success. You’ll also have time to connect with fellow graduate students.
Who should attend: Highly recommended for all new graduate students; attendance is required for new international graduate students.
Other Orientations
Depending on your student status and academic program, you may be expected to attend additional orientation sessions. Check with your department for program-specific requirements.
