Bloomfield College Orientation
Welcome to Bloomfield College of Montclair State University! Ready to Roar: New Student Orientation is a required step to finalize your enrollment before your first semester and helps you prepare to be a strong student.
During Ready to Roar, you will experience a warm and culturally affirming official welcome to the Bloomfield College community and will have the chance to meet new students, hear from campus leadership, meet with academic advisors and receive Bloomfield College merch and prizes.
Ready to Roar is mandatory for all new, deferred and transfer students attending Bloomfield College of Montclair State University.
To register, you will need your CWID number to claim your NetID. You will need your NetID in order to access your NEST account and the Orientation Portal. Access to the Orientation Portal is granted 24 – 48 hours after you have claimed your NetID. Registration is required!

- Registration is required to secure your Orientation date
The New Student Experience
Ready to Roar: New Student Orientation: Wednesday, August 26, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Bloomfield College campus.
Red Hawk Day: Thursday, August 27, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. starting at Yogi Berra Stadium on the Montclair State University campus.
Welcome Week: Enjoy a number of events on both Bloomfield and Montclair campuses designed to help you meet other students and acclimate you to the campus community.
Family Checkpoints
Bloomfield Family Orientation: Wednesday, July 29, 6-9 p.m., Talbott Hall.
Virtual Bloomfield Orientation: Tuesday, August 4, Zoom.
Students can register their family and supporters for these events through the Orientation Portal, located in NEST.
Orientation+ Webinar - Financing Your Education (Optional)
Topics include:
- Financial aid
- Billing and student accounts
- Payment responsibilities
Students can register for the events on the Orientation Portal.

All communication regarding registration, orientation and other campus news will be addressed to students’ university gmail account. To access your Montclair Google account, sign into Google.com with your NetID@montclair.edu Gmail and password. Don’t forget to add your new Montclair email to your phone and check it regularly!
