CCOM Partnerships
As a CCOM student, you don't have to wait until graduation to work with industry leaders. Three partnerships shape a lot of what you'll experience while you're here: with Sony, you train on Hollywood-caliber equipment; with NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47, you get real newsroom experience; and through NBCU Academy, you gain mentorship opportunities and compete for national scholarships.
NBCU Academy
As a CCOM student, you're eligible to apply for scholarships through NBCUniversal's NBCU Academy. The program gives you scholarships, education, on-campus training and online programming, plus mentorship from professionals at NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC and Telemundo.
Nearly two dozen CCOM students have received NBCU Academy scholarships so far, including 10 in a single recent semester. You can apply if you're a journalism or journalism-adjacent major who can demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in your work.
NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47
CCOM's partnership with NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 has given students like you a direct pipeline into one of the nation's leading media organizations.
Industry professionals from NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 co-teach some of your courses. Curriculum is shaped directly by real newsroom needs, so you're training on the same skills newsrooms are asking for right now, including bilingual and multimedia training that mirrors what a modern, dual-language newsroom expects.
Students in this program have been hired directly into NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 roles, including Tech Ops Freelancer, Assignment Desk and Production Assistant positions. Students also produced a documentary marking Telemundo 47's 60th anniversary, and the partnership continues to raise CCOM's visibility with the organizations that hire our graduates.
SONY
Through CCOM's partnership with Sony, you get access to Hollywood-caliber production technology, not only in the College's state-of-the-art production facilities but in theaters, classrooms, media labs and public spaces across campus. That means Sony Digital Cinema Projection and 7.1 surround sound in the screening room, and the same caliber of technology built into the active learning classrooms you use every day.
