Hawk+

Montclair State University's first-in-the-nation student-run streaming service, unifying sports, news, radio, podcasts, and student films from the College of Communication and Media in one free, on-demand platform.

Logo of University's streaming platform, Hawk+. Hawk is in all caps in red font and next to it is a colorful plus sign with a line that extends from the top and circles around to the bottom of the h.

One Platform for Everything CCOM Produces

Hawk+ began with a simple question raised during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic: why couldn't students and alumni access all of the media produced by the College of Communication and Media in one place? In Spring 2022, that question became a reality with the launch of Hawk+, the first student-run streaming service of its kind in the country.

The platform was built in partnership with Triple-B Media. This model gave Montclair a unifying video platform that aggregates content normally scattered across the college's website, social channels, and individual student media organizations into a single destination.

Students learn every layer of running a real streaming service: programming, scheduling, promotion, marketing, and social media, skills that translate directly into careers across the media industry.
