Industry Events

Inside the Station

Each department is directed by a student and structured after industry-standard broadcast operations. The News Team produces original reporting on deadline. The Sports Team delivers live play-by-play coverage of Red Hawk athletics. The Music Team handles curation, artist interviews, and in-studio performances. Behind the scenes, Engineering keeps the technology running, Production manages recorded content, and Digital Marketing and Promotions build the station's audience and brand. A student Station Manager leads the full operation, with an Office Manager overseeing business affairs.

With one professional staff advisor guiding the operation, students step into genuine roles and responsibilities from day one, not practicing broadcasting, but doing it.

WMSC also produces live event broadcasts on campus, including Homecoming, One Day for Montclair, and concert coverage, extending the station's reach well beyond the classroom and into the broader Montclair community.
