Meet your programming needs with professional grade production studios, including our two fixed-set studios and our adaptable studio. Filmmakers and still photographers alike can set up sets and shots in our spacious film studio.

Our inter-operational 4K control room – which can connect to any of our studios – high-definition video control rooms and audio control rooms give you the ability to connect anywhere in the facility where people are shooting.

Studio A

This dramatic, contemporary fixed set is perfect for productions that feature talk-show style discussions and programming.

Studio A features include:

• 38’x 51’ with 16’ light grid

• 3 Sony HDC-4300L cameras on pedestals with teleprompters and talent monitors
• 1 Sony HDC-4300L camera on Losmandy Jib with robotic head

Control Room A (Travis) 

Three Deck Control Room with the following equipment:

The Travis Control Room is one of our inter-operational 4K control rooms–each of which can connect to any of our studios. Our high-definition video and audio control rooms give you the ability to composite and live edit video being captured anywhere within our complex.

Studio B (Linda and George Hiltzik Studio)

With its kitchen and comfortable seating areas, this urban loft-style apartment set offers flexibility for shoots for everything from commercials and casual interviews to comedy and drama.

Studio B features include:

Newsroom

This large, totally customizable working newsroom is designed for everything from collaborative reporting to real time news shows. It’s an ideal setting for news-based programming such as staged news shows or scenes in film and television productions.

Newsroom features include:

• Three Sony HSC-300RF cameras on pedestals with teleprompters and talent monitors
• Sony BRZ-900 PTZ camera wall mounted
• Four Wireless Sony lav mics
• Four IFB channels (two wireless/two wired)
• Two wireless RTS com belt packs

Foley Sound Effects Studio

Create the sound effects that bring stories to life — from thunderstorms to the roar of the ocean, from squealing car brakes to racing footsteps.

Our fully equipped Foley studio and control room feature:

• Avid DigiDesign C-24 audio board
• ProTools 16 multi-channel recording system
• Genelec 5.1 surround sound system
• Two Focusrite Red 1 500 professional mic preamps

Audio Recording Studio and Control Room

At the heart of our audio production center, the digital multi-track audio recording studio and control room is equipped to record everything from music albums to voiceovers.

Features include:

• SSL AWS948 audio board
• ProTools 24 multi-channel recording system
• Genelec 5.1 surround sound system
• 6 Symetrix 528E voice processors
• DBX 1006 compressor/limter/gate
• Eventide H7600 Teroe sound EFX processor

Radio and Podcast Studio

Our radio and podcast studio overlooking the Manhattan skyline provides seating and mics for four. An overflow room accommodates up to four more speakers.

• Comrex access
• Six line call-in phone bank
• Professional CD/USB DJ mixer

Presentation and Screening Spaces

Since we are more than a typical production studio, we are able to offer access to exceptional spaces for large-scale events and conferences, film screenings, receptions and more.

Presentation Hall

Our 193-seat Presentation Hall is the up-to-the-minute setting for conferences, seminars, training events, film festivals and conventions. With its six cameras and state-of-the art technologies, you’ll be able to record, live stream or simply support your live event.

Presentation Hall features include:

• 193 Seat (187 fixed seats and 6 wheelchair) Theater
• 47’x14’ Stage
• 20’ grid, catwalk and side trees for lighting
• Stewart Directors Dual Masking Projection Screen
• Sony SRX-515 4K DCP cinema projector

• 10 Assistive Listening receivers with Audio Description capabilities. You can also use your own device by downloading the Listen Everywhere app ( iPhone / Android ). If using your own device, arrive to your event earlier to scan a custom QR code on-site to connect your personal device to the Presentation Hall via the Listen Everywhere app.

    • Upon arrival, connect to the “MSU-ADA” wi-fi (this will only appear when you are inside or directly outside of the venue in the lobby outside of the Presentation Hall).
    • Get your headphones ready with your device and launch the app and you are good to go!

Screening Theater

While it is equipped with the same cutting-edge technologies – such as a 7.1 Surround Sound System – as the larger Presentation Hall, our 37-seat screening theater is an intimate venue for screening everything from rough cuts to finished films.

Screening theater features include:

• 37 seat (35 fixed seats and 2 wheelchair) theater
• Stewart Cinema fixed projection screen
• Sony SRX-515 4K DCP cinema projector
• QSC 7.1 surround sound system
• 4 assistive listening receivers

Additional Spaces

Will you need private offices during your shoot or event? Conference room access for briefings and planning? Or will you be hosting a reception for 25 to 350 people? We have just what you’re looking for with a suite of rental spaces that complement our professional production facilities.

Lobby

While our light-filled main lobby is available as a shooting space, it is also an impressive venue for receptions or events.

VIP Reception Area

With its dramatic second-floor views of the Manhattan skyline, our VIP reception area is an impressive setting for intimate gatherings.

Offices

Private office space is available on request.

Conference Rooms

Production crews enjoy the convenience of centralized conference room spaces where they can meet to schedule and recap their programming and productions.
