Information about Holds

What Are Holds?

Holds are placed on your account when required actions have not been completed or when there is an outstanding balance.

Holds can prevent you from registering for classes, accessing services or completing important tasks. It is important to review and resolve any holds as soon as possible.

How Holds Affect You

Every hold is different, but some may prevent you from registering for classes, viewing grades, requesting transcripts, receiving your diploma or accessing certain University services.

Students with financial holds are typically unable to register or receive transcripts until the balance is resolved.

Common Types of Holds

Where do I find my holds?

  1. Log into NEST
  2. Navigate to Degree Works
  3. Look for the “Holds” section
    • This section will show the type of hold, what office is responsible and what action is required.

If you are unsure how to resolve a hold, contact Red Hawk Central or the office listed on your account.
