Parking Services helps students, faculty, staff, and visitors navigate parking. Find parking maps, permit options, and regulations for both Montclair and Bloomfield, all in one place. Your parking permit will be valid on both the Montclair State University campus and the Bloomfield College campus.

Parking Information For
Do I need a Permit?
Yes. Everyone who parks on campus needs to register their vehicle and obtain a parking permit. The only exceptions are for those who will park only in metered spaces in Lot 19, pay the hourly rate in the Red Hawk Garage, or pay the daily rate in the NJ Transit Garage.
You can register your vehicle and get your permit online.
All permits are virtual, meaning they are linked to your license plate number (no hangtags or decals!). So, make sure your vehicle information is accurate.

Chargepoint App
Access and manage electric vehicle charging on campus through the ChargePoint app. You must download the ChargePoint app and create an account. In order to do this, you will need to log in to your personal ChargePoint driver account and provide your credit card details.
PayByPhone App
Pay for hourly parking quickly and conveniently from your mobile device. Enter the proper code for the designated parking area, manage your parking session, and extend parking time where available. If parking in the Red Hawk Deck, you will pay by either cash or card when leaving the garage.
OpenSpace Parking App
View real-time parking availability across campus parking decks and lots before you arrive. Use the OpenSpace Parking app to check available spaces and plan where to park. Enter provider code montclair-state-u to access Montclair State University parking information.

Parking Permit Exception Request
Parking On Campus
Undergraduate Resident students with 29 credits or less are not eligible for parking permits on campus. Any student with an extenuating circumstance may request a parking exception to acquire a permit that their status would normally not allow them to obtain. To request an exception, complete the request form. Please note that work purposes are not a valid exception request.
Resident students with 30 credits or more are permitted to park on campus. All students parking on Montclair State University’s campus as well as Bloomfield Campus must be registered to a valid resident permit.
All Montclair State University permits are virtual, meaning they are linked to your license plate number (no hang tags or decals). Make sure your vehicle information is accurate.
Special Event Parking Form
Submit the Special Event Parking Form to coordinate parking accommodations for campus events, including guest parking, reserved spaces, and other event-related parking needs.
Please Note: Requests should be submitted at least five business days before your event.
