Black History Month

Each February, Montclair State University celebrates Black History Month by honoring the history, achievements, cultures, and enduring contributions of Black and African American communities. Through educational programs, cultural events, and opportunities for reflection and dialogue, we celebrate Black excellence while deepening our understanding of the experiences and legacies that continue to shape our University and society.

Women’s History Month

Each March, Montclair State University recognizes Women’s History Month by celebrating the achievements, leadership, and contributions of women throughout history and across our communities. Programs and events highlight diverse experiences, honor those who have advanced equity and opportunity, and inspire continued progress toward a more inclusive future.

Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Montclair State University celebrates Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by recognizing the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of these diverse communities. Through opportunities for learning, celebration, and connection, we honor the individuals and communities whose experiences and achievements have strengthened our University and society.

Disability Awareness Month

Montclair State University recognizes Disability Awareness Month by celebrating the identities, experiences, achievements, and contributions of people with disabilities. Through educational programs and community engagement, we promote disability inclusion, accessibility, belonging, and a deeper understanding of the barriers that individuals with disabilities may encounter.

Pride Month

Montclair State University celebrates Pride Month by honoring the history, resilience, achievements, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ communities. Through programs, events, and opportunities for connection, we recognize the ongoing movement for equity and affirm our commitment to creating a University community where everyone can live, learn, and thrive authentically.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Montclair State University celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15 by honoring the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino/a/x communities. Through educational and cultural programming, we celebrate the diverse identities and experiences that enrich our University while recognizing their lasting impact on our shared history and society.
