The Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation Team is an administrative unit committed to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of academic programs and courses through ongoing faculty engagement and support.

We empower faculty to make informed curricular and assessment choices that result in high-quality, functional learning experiences with measurable student outcomes, while ensuring alignment with accreditation requirements.

Governance

Faculty leadership is at the heart of curriculum and assessment, and our team’s work is built on deep respect for their expertise. To sustain and support this faculty-driven approach, several committees guide and connect curriculum and assessment efforts across the institution

University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee

The University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (UUCC) is responsible for reviewing and approving all undergraduate programs, curriculum changes, and policies. It ensures high academic standards for new majors, minors, and concentrations, often collaborating with the Provost and college-level committees.

Graduate Council

The Graduate Council reviews proposals and makes recommendations for program approvals.

Graduate Council Curriculum Committee

The Graduate Council Curriculum Committee (GCC) provides a collegial review of proposals, including recommendations for revisions, prior to the Graduate Council’s full review of proposals.

Academic Assessment Committee

The Academic Assessment Committee (AAC) supports academic departments and the University in the development, review, and continuous improvement of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessment processes. The committee promotes meaningful, effective, and sustainable assessment practices that enhance student learning, support evidence-based decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to institutional effectiveness.

Academic Assessment Committee Leadership Council

The Academic Assessment Committee Leadership Council (LC) is composed of faculty members representing participating colleges across the institution. The LC supports policy development and revision, leads faculty professional development, and advances assessment research to strengthen institutional effectiveness.

Workday Student

Montclair is undertaking a campus-wide transition to Workday Student. This initiative unites partners across the University, including Curriculum and Enrollment Management, to modernize and streamline academic and administrative processes.
