Faculty Search and Hiring

Montclair’s strategy for faculty recruitment and search is guided by the commitments expressed in the University Mission Statement (2025), which articulate the future direction of the institution and expectations for faculty as intellectual leaders. Search committees are encouraged to keep those commitments at the forefront of decision-making and to ask throughout the process: Who can help the University fulfill these commitments?

Working closely with Human Resources, the Provost’s leads faculty and librarian search processes by providing guidelines, tools, and templates to support hiring managers and search committees from position inception and approval through recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
