The Social Media team at Montclair helps faculty, staff, account administrators and content creators manage University-affiliated social media activity responsibly and effectively.

University Communications and Marketing provides guidance for campus partners who create, manage or contribute to social media content connected to Montclair. Together we develop compelling campaigns that answer on goals and priorities, grow followers, increase reach and drive engagement. In addition to supporting account administrators with branded content, UCM also manages the Content Creator Program, a growing University-wide initiative supporting student content creators both within our College of Communications and beyond. The following resources are designed to help account administrators follow University standards, protect the brand and create social media posts that are accurate, accessible, engaging and appropriate for the audience.

The University’s official social media accounts are administered and moderated by UCM’s Strategic Distribution team. Colleges, schools and departments also administer accounts across multiple platforms, and UCM collaborates with those administrators to coordinate and amplify University communications. All University social media creators and administrators are required to abide by the University’s Social Media Policy, Social Media Guidelines and Social Media Community Standards.
