Self-Service Tools
Self-Service Tools help faculty, staff and campus partners create common Montclair-branded materials quickly and consistently. University Communications and Marketing provides approved templates, downloads and instructions for routine communications needs that do not always require custom design, brand consultation or direct production support.
These tools help campus partners stay aligned with Montclair’s visual identity while moving everyday work forward efficiently.
Use these resources when you need approved brand materials, standard templates or simple instructions for frequently requested items.
When to Use Self-Service Tools
Self-service tools are usually the best fit when your need is routine, common or can be completed with an approved template or existing resource.
Use self-service tools when you need to:
- Create a basic branded flyer or presentation
- Download an approved logo
- Use a University Zoom background
- Generate an email signature
- Order a standard name badge
- Draft a basic grant announcement
- Prepare routine internal materials
- Access approved visual or editorial resources
Self-service tools are also useful when timelines are short and custom UCM support is not required. These resources are intended to make routine communications easier while protecting the strength and consistency of the Montclair brand.
When to Request UCM Support
Some projects may need additional review, consultation or production support.
Contact UCM by visiting the appropriate service area page when your project:
- Has broad University visibility
- Supports recruitment, student success or institutional reputation
- Involves external audiences or media
- Is connected to an executive priority or major initiative
- Requires custom design, photography, video, web or communications strategy
- Uses the University Seal
- Requires a new hierarchical logo
- Involves a vendor, merchandise or signage
- Raises questions about brand, accessibility, copyright or appropriate use
UCM may recommend strategic partnership, guided support or additional self-service resources depending on the scope, timing and audience.
