Bloomfield College Honors Program

Bloomfield College of Montclair State University offers Montclair’s John Martinson Honors EDGE curriculum. In addition to the incredibly rich offerings provided by Honors EDGE, the Bloomfield campus offers distinct opportunities, events, and experiences for Bloomfield students. Both incoming and currently enrolled eligible students are encouraged to apply.

Honors work has traditionally rewarded scholarship by asking students to mirror published academic research. While this approach suits some students, it does not serve all. In alignment with current best practices in Honors pedagogy, Bloomfield Honors supports and encourages students—alongside their faculty mentors—to develop interdisciplinary projects that foster creativity while maintaining rigorous academic standards. Students have produced podcasts, policy briefs, poetry, artwork, and full-length research studies, many of which have been presented at academic conferences. This approach not only allows students to explore their intellectual interests but also empowers them to develop and showcase the skills most relevant to their goals.
