The Office of the Dean at Bloomfield College of Montclair State University is responsible for all matters related to the educational, curricular, budgetary, and administrative affairs of the College.

In alignment with the mission and vision of the College, the dean provides leadership toward the ability for the College to excel and to advance the University’s mission in teaching, research, and service. Bloomfield College of Montclair State University offers a broad selection of exceptional academically rigorous interdisciplinary programs of study. Office of Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs is home to six academic programs—Computational, Natural and Applied Sciences, Creative Arts and Technology, Humanities, Nursing, and Social and Behavioral Sciences—as well as the Center for Student Success. Guided by our mission to educate, enlighten, empower, and engage students in providing stewardship to communities locally, regionally, nationally, and globally, we offer administrative leadership and support that foster high-quality teaching, learning, and scholarly and creative activity.

Area Coordinator: Dr. Grace Cook

In Computational, Natural, and Applied Sciences, students benefit from hands-on learning, including internship and research opportunities. Our curriculum is designed to provide you with a strong foundation while also allowing students to pursue your individual interests. The Creative Arts & Technology program at Bloomfield College transforms your passion for visual storytelling, music, and digital media into a career built for the future. Whether your focus is animation, game design, graphic design, or music technology, you’ll gain hands-on experience using industry-standard tools in professional studios and labs.

Our CAT program offers a variety of creative paths in:

  • Animation 2D

  • Animation 3D

  • Game Design and Development

  • Graphic Design

  • Music Technology

Area Coordinator: Jacquelyn Svercauski

The Nursing program at Bloomfield College is known for preparing students to excel on the NCLEX and thrive in their careers. Through hands-on learning and the use of trusted resources like ATI Testing, you’ll develop the critical thinking and clinical judgment skills needed to succeed every step of the way.

Our Social and Behavioral Sciences curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation while allowing them to explore their individual interests and career goals. Area Coordinator: Harry Franqui-Rivera

Our Humanities courses are intentionally designed to meet the needs of our diverse student population while cultivating essential, transferable skills. Students develop critical thinking, the ability to see the bigger picture, and the capacity to engage with complex, and sometimes conflicting, ideas simultaneously—hallmarks of effective leadership in today’s world.
