School of Nursing Scholarships

Scholarships are available to support School of Nursing students throughout their academic journey. Awards are made possible through the generosity of donors and organizations committed to advancing nursing education in New Jersey. Scholarship funds are automatically applied to the recipient’s tuition bill during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded. Available Scholarships

Amount: $500–$1,500
Criteria: The College Women’s Club of Montclair Scholarship supports young women who are pursuing higher education and demonstrate financial need. Recipients must be enrolled in the School of Nursing’s 4-year BSN program and be in good academic standing.
Application: Not required. Recipients are selected by the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Amount: $1,000 per year for up to four years.
Criteria: The McMullen Family Scholarship is awarded to licensed registered nurses employed at Hackensack Mountainside Medical Center. Recipients must be enrolled in either the RN to BSN or Online MSN program, have at least one year of full-time employment at the Center, and be in good academic standing. This scholarship cannot be awarded simultaneously with the Mountainside Physicians Scholarship.
Application: Students must submit a one-page essay of intent and proof of employment to the School of Nursing.

Amount: $2,000
Criteria: The Mountainside Physicians Scholarship is awarded to licensed registered nurses employed at Hackensack Mountainside Medical Center. Recipients must be enrolled in either the RN to BSN or Online MSN program and be in good academic standing. This scholarship cannot be awarded simultaneously with the McMullen Family Scholarship.
Application: Students must submit a one-page essay of intent and proof of employment to the School of Nursing.

Amount: $7,500
Criteria: The New Jersey Partners for Health Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the 4-year BSN program at the School of Nursing. Recipients must be in good academic standing and demonstrate a commitment to community engagement.
Application: Students must submit a 750-word essay detailing their career goals, commitment to community engagement, and any volunteer or community service activities.

Amount: $1,000–$2,000
Criteria: The Walter and Louise Sutcliffe Foundation Scholarship is awarded based on financial need. Recipients must be enrolled in a School of Nursing program and be in good academic standing.
Application: Not required. Recipients are selected by the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Nursing students who are employed by Montclair’s partner health systems receive a 20% tuition discount. Current partners include:

  • Atlantic Health System
  • Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center
  • St. Joseph’s University Medical Center

Criteria: Students must submit proof of employment to the School of Nursing.
