Why Join the SNA?
For nursing students at every level, the SNA offers opportunities to engage, learn, lead and serve. As a member, you will:
- Build lifelong professional connections
- Develop leadership and teamwork skills
- Serve your community through meaningful outreach
- Support charitable causes and healthcare initiatives
- Create lasting friendships with fellow nursing students
What We Do
Through participation in the SNA, students gain hands-on opportunities to serve the community, strengthen leadership skills, and connect classroom learning to real-world healthcare experiences. Members have the opportunity to participate in initiatives such as:
- Organizing health fairs or wellness screenings on campus
- Volunteer opportunities with local organizations and charities
- Fundraising efforts for local nonprofit organizations
- Holiday giving initiatives for clinical partners
Members gain valuable professional experiences beyond the classroom through leadership development, networking, and opportunities to engage with the nursing community, including:
- Attendance at national nursing professional conferences and conventions
- Opportunities to hear from industry leaders at organization meetings
- Joining School of Nursing committees to advocate for student governance
- Leadership opportunities through event planning and coordination
Our Mission
The SNA supports nursing students by creating opportunities for service, leadership, education, and collaboration. Through these experiences, members develop the skills and confidence needed to become compassionate healthcare professionals and advocates for patient care.
