Baroque
Students of Baroque music at the Cali School of Music explore the sound, style, and expressive possibilities of early music through focused study, ensemble experience, and performance. Students build historical understanding, develop thoughtful interpretation, and grow as collaborative musicians in a supportive environment that encourages curiosity, stylistic awareness, and confidence as versatile performers.
Playing in the Baroque ensemble at Cali has been a highlight of my time as a student. Working with historical instruments, discovering unfamiliar composers and repertoire, and performing in such a welcoming environment has been unforgettable. Dr. Hsuan-Wen Chen has influenced me as both a harpsichordist and pianist, helping me play with greater freedom and deeper understanding.
