Cast on stage of Musical Theatre production

Musical Theatre students at Montclair develop the skills, confidence, and versatility needed for life on stage. This innovative program, offered through the College of the Arts and the John J. Cali School of Music, gives students intensive training in acting, singing, and dance while preparing them for professional performance careers.

Students build a strong foundation through scene study, character work, vocal training, musical theatre repertoire, and dance courses in ballet, tap, and jazz. They also gain hands-on experience through auditions, productions, ensemble work, and performance opportunities that help them understand how a show comes together from rehearsal to stage.

In a supportive and challenging environment, students grow as expressive, collaborative performers ready for Broadway, regional theatre, touring productions, and beyond.

“The program offers a strong core curriculum that challenged us to stretch our limits in the class and in performance, and the flexibility to focus on specific aspects of this multi-faceted art form. There is no other place I would want to be.”
