At Cali School of Music, students in strings and harp grow in a close, supportive environment with extensive opportunities for solo, chamber, and ensemble performance. Students receive focused training designed to build technical mastery, artistic confidence, and professional versatility, while performing regularly in orchestra, chamber music, recitals, masterclasses, and special projects.

The string area offers pathways for undergraduate and graduate students, including performance, music education, music therapy, the Artist Diploma, and the Graduate String Quartet Fellowship. Harp students pursue their own focused programs of study while sharing in the Cali School’s broader culture of performance, collaboration, and artistic growth. With personal attention, meaningful performance experience, and a strong sense of community, students develop as curious, resourceful musicians prepared for a lifelong connection to their art.

Strings and harp students at the Cali School of Music develop technical skill, expressive artistry, and musical versatility through private study, ensemble work, masterclasses, and performance opportunities. Students grow in a supportive environment that encourages collaboration, individual voice, and confidence as thoughtful, adaptable musicians.

The area offers two distinctive graduate programs that enrich students’ educational and professional development. The Graduate String Quartet Residency provides advanced string players with the opportunity to study, rehearse, perform, and grow within an intensive chamber music setting focused on the art of quartet playing. The Cali Collective Ensemble, a two-year fellowship within the Artist Diploma Program, prepares emerging classical musicians for multifaceted careers by integrating performance, teaching, community engagement, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Together, these programs equip students with the artistic, professional, and collaborative skills necessary to succeed in today’s evolving musical landscape.
