The Office sponsors this event in partnership with Experiential Education & Career Services and the Center for Student Involvement.

Internships and co-op experiences help employers connect with talented students while preparing the future workforce. These opportunities allow students to apply classroom learning in a professional setting while giving employers early access to emerging talent.

  • Earn academic credit while gaining valuable experience (for eligible co-op placements).

How the Co-op Program Works

  • Students are hired as employees of your organization and are paid by the employer.
  • Eligible students generally have completed at least 30 credits, though some academic programs may have additional requirements.
  • Students earn academic credit while completing supervised work experiences.
  • Career Services helps prepare students for the workplace and assists employers by promoting opportunities and connecting them with qualified candidates.
  • Each co-op student works with a faculty advisor who oversees the academic component, conducts site visits, and collaborates with the employer throughout the experience.
