What's New This Year

  • Lot 19 is now designated as Faculty/Staff Parking Only and is no longer available for student parking.
  • The hourly rate for Lot 19M metered parking is now $2.00 per hour, with a maximum stay of 4-hours. Students and visitors should plan accordingly and use other available parking locations for long-term parking.
  • Parking Services staff will host Welcome Back Information Tables throughout campus during the first two weeks of the semester to answer questions, assist with permits, explain parking regulations and help students navigate campus parking.

Before You Register for a Permit

Before purchasing your permit, please review your parking account to ensure all vehicle information is accurate and up to date.

Before parking on campus, be sure to:

  • Review the available permit options before registering.
  • Read and understand the Parking Regulations that apply to your permit.
  • Update your vehicle information if you have purchased a new vehicle or changed license plates.
  • Review the campus Parking Map for Montclair campus or Bloomfield campus before arriving for the semester.
  • Explore Shuttle Services and other transportation options available on campus.
  • Download the Parking Logix Parker Mobile App and TripShot app for parking availability, navigation and transportation services.
  • Ensure all vehicles are parked with the license plate facing the drive aisle to allow License Plate Recognition (LPR) enforcement technology to read your plate.
  • Accessible parking requires both a valid Montclair State University parking permit (or payment for daily parking) and a valid state-issued disability placard or disability license plate.

NJ Transit Resident Permit Holders

Resident students with NJ Transit permits may park in University surface lots through Wednesday, August 26. NJ Transit parking regulations will take effect beginning Thursday, August 27. All NJ Transit permit holders will receive an additional email from Parking Services to complete an additional registration with Metropolis, the current NJT parking deck management company.

Your Responsibility

By parking on campus, you agree to comply with the University's Parking Regulations.

It is the responsibility of every vehicle owner and operator to:

  • Maintain accurate vehicle information in your parking account.
  • Park only in locations authorized by your permit.
  • Observe all posted signs, pavement markings and parking restrictions.
  • Read and comply with all Parking Regulations to avoid citations and other enforcement actions.

Taking a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the regulations before the semester begins can help you avoid unnecessary fines and ensure a smooth parking experience.
