Biennial Review

Montclair State University is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy campus environment. As part of this commitment, the University conducts a biennial review of its Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program.

This review is required under the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and evaluates the effectiveness of the University’s efforts to prevent the misuse of alcohol and other drugs, ensure compliance with policies and support student and employee well-being.

What Is the Biennial Review?

The biennial review is a comprehensive report that assesses:

  • The effectiveness of alcohol and other drug prevention programs
  • The consistency of policy enforcement and sanctions
  • Trends related to alcohol and drug-related incidents
  • Available education, prevention and support initiatives

The review also ensures that the University continues to meet federal requirements by providing clear information on policies, health risks, legal consequences and available support services.

Health Promotion

Health Promotion provides education, outreach and resources to support student well-being and help you make informed decisions. Through programs, peer education and prevention initiatives, the office promotes a healthy campus community for students. Focus areas include: safer sex and sexuality, alcohol, cannabis and other drugs, tobacco, body image, mental health, stress and sleep.
