The Writing Center's mission is to enable students to attain excellence in all forms and levels of writing during their college careers and, as a result, in their chosen professions. Consultants at the Writing Center utilize a student-centered approach and a collaborative process to help writers meet their writing goals. The ultimate goal of the Center is to help BCMSU students become conscientious, ethical, engaged, and independent writers and citizens.

The Writing Center is a supportive environment where writers at every level can develop their skills and help all forms of writing grow and flourish. We also provide assistance across all disciplines, including First-Year Writing, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Nursing. All BCMSU faculty, student writers, and writing consultants are invited, free of charge, to collaborate in the broadening and deepening of writing practices.

We work with other departments on campus to support excellence in writing and are available to serve faculty and staff who wish to obtain assistance with their professional writing. Our services are completely drop-in; however, for specialized, content-specific, or study-support tutoring sessions, please email the front desk.
