At the Cali School of Music, Music Education students prepare to become skilled music makers, thoughtful educators, and leaders in school and community settings. With one of the most comprehensive music education programs in New Jersey, undergraduate students may pursue the BMus in Music for School and Community Settings or the BMus in Music Education with certification, with classical and jazz tracks available across all areas of study.

Students build strong musicianship through applied lessons, ensembles, keyboard study, music theory, music history, and performance, while developing the teaching skills needed for classrooms, choral and instrumental programs, and community-based music learning. Through coursework in education, liberal arts, pedagogy, fieldwork, and student teaching, the program prepares graduates for a wide range of paths, including teaching in New Jersey public schools, private schools, graduate study, and other music-related careers. Music education majors are supported as both music makers and future teachers, with the goal of fostering lifelong artists who continue to perform, compose, conduct, teach, and lead.
