General Education courses at the Cali School of Music invite music majors and students across the University to explore music as an essential part of culture, creativity, and everyday life. Students build listening skills, engage with musical ideas and traditions, and consider the ways music connects with history, identity, community, and the arts.

Taught by Cali faculty, these courses support students at every level, from non-majors discovering music in a new way to music majors deepening the context for their artistic and academic work. The result is a welcoming, thoughtful learning environment where students broaden their perspective and connect musical study to the wider world.
