Become a Leader and Make a Difference

The Bonner Leader Program empowers students to turn their passion for service into meaningful action throughout their college experience. Rooted in the belief that "Access to education is an opportunity to serve," Bonner Leaders develop as civic-minded changemakers while building meaningful relationships with community partners across northern New Jersey.

As a Bonner Leader, you'll participate in a four-year leadership and service program that combines community engagement with personal and professional growth. Students complete 8-10 hours of service each week, totaling at least 300 hours of service during the academic year.

Leadership development is a core part of the Bonner experience. In addition to service, Bonner Leaders enroll in the Leadership Development Through Civic Engagement Minor, an interdisciplinary program that helps students strengthen their leadership skills while connecting academic learning with community engagement. 

Bonner Leaders serve with local community and nonprofit organizations to address issues such as educational access, food insecurity, youth development, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.
