Zoom Phone
What is Zoom Phone?
Zoom Phone is the university’s new cloud-based calling system, built directly into the Zoom platform. It enables you to place and receive calls from your computer, mobile device, or—when necessary—supported desk phones. Regardless of the device you use, your university phone number remains with you.

Getting Started
All Zoom Phone users must complete a quick setup in the Zoom web portal to ensure calling, voicemail, and emergency services work correctly.
-
Access Your Account
Sign in at montclair.zoom.us and open Phone from the left navigation menu.
If you have not yet claimed your account, complete the SSO sign-in first.
-
Complete Your Initial Setup
Set your basic phone preferences, including:
- Country and time zone
- Save your settings
-
Set Your Emergency Address and Location Permissions
You must set an emergency 911 location in Zoom Phone. In Phone settings, go to Emergency Address, add your work location, and save it. You can add multiple locations and choose a default so emergency services receive the correct information.
You can also allow Zoom Phone to update your location automatically by enabling location permissions.
Emergency Address: Zoom app > Phone > Settings > Emergency Address > add work location > save and set default
Desktop: Zoom app > Profile icon > Settings > Phone > enable enhanced location access
Mobile: Zoom app > More > Phone > Location Permission > choose While Using the App or Ask Next Time
