The Family Ambassador Program gives you simple, flexible ways to stay connected to Montclair State University. Get involved, meet other families and support your student’s experience along the way.

About the Program

Family Ambassadors help create a welcoming and connected community. From supporting events to sharing feedback, your involvement helps strengthen the experience for students and families.

Participation is flexible and based on your interests and availability.

The Details

You can participate in opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • Move-In support, summer and winter
  • Event hospitality and check-in at Homecoming and Family Weekend
  • Family panels and storytelling
  • Feedback on communications
  • Welcoming new families during orientation

A Leadership & Philanthropy Pathway

Families who wish to deepen their involvement may step into a leadership role through a sub‐committee within the Family Ambassador Program. 

In partnership with Development, ambassadors may: 

  • Support and promote the Parents Fund, encourage peer participation during ONE Day (the University’s annual day of giving)
  • Serve as speakers or panelists at Family Weekend and other University programs
  • Act as visible ambassadors during signature events and partner with Development around cultivation, stewardship, and outreach
  • Build connections with the University
  • Support students during key moments
  • Share your perspective
  • Stay engaged in a way that works for you
