[Phish Alert] Google Form Phish: Below is a File
This article explains a phishing email that impersonates a university department chair and uses a seemingly legitimate Google Form associated with Montclair State University to appear trustworthy.
Why this looks valid:
- Email states its coming from a Department Chair
- Has a very vague but realistic subject
- Google Forms page states the form was created inside Montclair State University
Why this is phishing?
- Email was not coming from the Montclair email domain
- Never submit your passwords or 2FA codes thorough Google Forms. We will never ask you to provide your password
- Email is vague as is the Google Form
Additional Notes
- Remember: Information Technology will never text you. We will also never request your password or Duo codes, ever.
- Information Technology will not ask you to verify accounts or submit passwords through unofficial forms or unexpected email links.

- Use the Knowbe4 Phish Alert Button (PAB) to report malicious emails directly to the Information Security team for review. If you are not using the Gmail client please forward the email to phishfiles@montclair.edu.
