Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) supports students on both the Montclair and Bloomfield campuses.

Important Notes

  • To reach a licensed mental health clinician after hours or over break, please call the CAPS front desk at 973-655-5211 (Montclair) or 973-655-2800 (Bloomfield) and select option 2.
  • Please call CAPS at 973-655-5211 to schedule an appointment. Free teletherapy for students is also available through UWill.
  • If you would like help finding an off-campus provider, please contact CAPS or visit the CAPS Referral Website for more information.
  • For outreach requests, please fill out our Outreach Request Form. Calls are returned during business hours.
  • In case of psychiatric emergency during non-business hours, please contact your nearest emergency room or University Police at 973-655-5222.
  • Email is not a confidential medium, so prospective clients are encouraged to contact CAPS by phone or in person.
