External Faculty Development

We welcome suggestions from the community about faculty development programs that are open to Montclair faculty.  Please send in your suggestions to Vera Senina. 

If you decide to apply for an external opportunity, we encourage you to reach out to the OFE for consultation and support.

  • Elevate at the Rutgers Center for MSIs: The ELEVATE program supports the ongoing development of early-career MSI faculty.  ELEVATE brings together early-career faculty at MSIs to provide support, training, and an opportunity to create a close-knit network of peers. Three-day program help during early summer. Applications are typically due in January or early to February. For questions or support, please contact the program or OFE.
    • 2025 Program Deadline is Sunday, January 20, 2025
  • Civic Engagement & Voting Rights Teacher Scholars Program
    • Support democracy in the higher ed classroom by creating open education materials! The Civic Engagement and Voting Rights Teacher Scholars Program – housed in the Clemson University Humanities Hub and sponsored by a grant from The Mellon Foundation – provides a compensated cohort-based opportunity (June 2024-May 2025) for faculty to create educational materials to infuse civic and voter education into humanities or humanities-allied courses.
    • Applications requested no later than February 15, 2024.
    • Montclair State University faculty at any rank are encouraged to apply. As members of a minority-serving institution, your expertise and insight is especially valued.
    • Fellowships come with a stipend and support for all travel costs for the 2-day Summer Institute at Clemson, June 4-5, 2024. The in-person institute will be followed by a year-long Faculty Learning Community (FLC) that will meet virtually.
