This fall semester, on the second Thursday of each month, at 6pm, the Department of Political Science, Law, History, and Anthropology is hosting a series on Latin America in film.

The viewings will take place in the basement of Sprague Library in LBL21, with discussion to follow.

  • First up, on October 8, we'll see the Oscar-winning The Mission, starring Robert Deniro.
  • Then, on November 12, it's time for another Oscar winner, this one tracing Ernesto Che Guevara's youthful travels through Latin America, titled The Motorcycle Diaries.
  • Finally, on December 10, there'll be Four Days of September, a political thriller that narrowly missed being the first Brazilian production to be named Best Foreign Film by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences back in 1997.
