Hispanic/Latiné Heritage Month (Mes de la Herencia Hispana)

In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) the Office for Hispanic Initiatives celebrates the University’s diverse and dynamic Latiné community with a series of events focusing on both culture and challenges, while commemorating Latiné Pride.

Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future

The theme for the 2026 Hispanic/Latiné Heritage Month will be: Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.

Selected by the National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers (NCHEPM), this is the official national theme used across federal agencies, schools, and many institutions.

• It emphasizes shared cultural roots, intergenerational legacy, and forward-looking leadership.
• It highlights the importance of honoring historical contributions while motivating future progress.

As Associate Provost for Hispanic Initiatives, Dr. Katia Paz Goldfarb, explains: 

“This month gives us an opportunity to share, recognize and celebrate de donde venimos y a donde vamos (where we come from and where we are going) as an intrinsic part of the society.”
