International Partnerships

University of Graz Delegation Visit March 2025

At Montclair State University, we believe that global collaboration is key to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Through our international partnerships, students, faculty, and researchers gain access to diverse learning experiences, cutting-edge research opportunities, and cross-cultural exchanges that broaden perspectives and inspire innovation. These collaborations not only enhance academic excellence but also prepare our community to thrive in a connected world, fostering the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to make a meaningful impact beyond our Montclair community.

These relationships are being developed through the Office of International Academic Initiatives, Feliciano Global, and through research and collaboration of our faculty and staff. This list is being developed and updated by Montclair's team frequently with consideration to both pre-COVID relationships and developing partnerships in the future.

Université Laval 1941

Université Laval, located in Quebec City, Canada, collaborated in an exchange program with Montclair State University (known then as Montclair State Teachers College) in 1941, when French major Anita Magistro- was the first student sent by Montclair to represent the University. The Anita Magistro Udell Scholarship for Language Majors was established in her honor.

The ten day Quebec City trip was taken over the 1941 Christmas Holiday by Magistro and some of her fellow students and was led by Prof. Valentine Tonone.  The trip included a tour of Quebec’s historic quarter, various receptions, and an official dinner.  The Montclair State University students also travelled from Quebec City to Les Eboulements, a village approximately 70 miles away.  There, the Montclair students performed and taught the local children traditional Canadian dances.
