Think about a co-op or internship to enhance your Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies experience! Earn credit while putting your GSWS background to work!

Build your resume with an exciting internship.

A great way to get a more concrete idea of what kind of career you’d like to have when you graduate and to get experience in that field is by doing an internship. You’ll have great experience to put on your resume, gain many skills and jumpstart your career before you even graduate. GSWS 410 Cooperative Education: Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Be involved with an organization, agency or business that deals with women’s issues and obtain three credits towards your GSWS degree. What you need to do:

  • Have completed GSWS102, GSWS301 and at least one other GSWS course
  • Have a 3.0 or better GPA in the major or minor
  • Talk to the GSWS Director about your possible placements
  • Contact the CHSS Student Success Center and schedule a meeting with Career Development
  • Once your placement is approved, you can register for GSWS410

Scholarships

Let GSWS give back to YOU

The Edna and Ben Gould Memorial Scholarship‌ in Women’s and Gender Studies was established in 2008 by Linda Gould Levine (former WMGS Director, 1994-2000) in loving memory of her parents.  The scholarship, in the amount of $250, will be awarded annually to a Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies major or minor who meets the criteria. The Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies department (GSWS) will make three $100 book awards annually to eligible GSWS students or LGBTQ student who shows promise as a feminist or LGBTQ activist.
