Cali Pathways Project
Cali Pathways identifies talented and motivated students in grades 8-12, and assists them in bridging gaps that may otherwise preclude them from achieving their full musical potential. An individualized support plan is developed collaboratively and adjusted yearly for each student.
Cali Collective Ensemble
Cali Collective Ensemble (CCE) is a 2-Year Graduate Program within the Artist Diploma Certificate at the Cali School of Music. Offered in partnership with Music for All Seasons – an organization that believes in the power of music to heal, bring solace, and to change people’s lives – CCE prepares young professional classical musicians for careers integrating performance, teaching, community engagement, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Masters of Music degree required.
Artist Vision Project (AVP)
The Artist Vision Project (AVP) is a cross-curricular initiative spearheaded and led by faculty member Kathryn Lockwood and overseen by the Cali School of Music’s Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program. While most students fulfill degree requirements through traditional recitals presented during their junior, senior, or graduate studies, the AVP encourages students to develop projects that reflect their broader artistic identity. These projects blend music with storytelling, multimedia, collaboration, and interdisciplinary exploration.

Summer Programs
Stokes Summer Music Camp
Stokes Music Camp brings musicians ages 10–17 together for an unforgettable sleep-away experience in the natural beauty of Stokes State Forest. Through ensembles, private lessons, music theory, musical theatre, and activities such as hiking, boating, climbing, and archery, students strengthen their skills, explore new interests, and build lasting friendships in a welcoming and supportive community. Whether they play classical, jazz, rock, or love the stage, young musicians will find a place to grow, create, and experience the magic of making music in the forest.
Summer Strings Chamber Music Camp
Young performers spend a week developing essential chamber music skills while building confidence and refining the musicianship needed to grow as ensemble players and soloists. Daily coachings, seminars, and demonstrations are led by professional musicians and Montclair State University faculty. The camp concludes with a free public concert featuring performances by each group.
