For over half a century, the Department of Art and Design has prepared artists and designers who don't just respond to the world — they help shape it.

With degree programs in art education, fashion design and merchandising, graphic design, illustration, and the visual arts, students develop real expertise in their chosen fields while benefiting from the department's interdisciplinary structure and shared studio spaces. Coursework equips you with the technical and professional skills you need to succeed — and the critical thinking skills to develop your personal voice and build a broader understanding of what art and design do in the world.

Throughout your studies, you'll with professional-grade equipment, show your work in on-campus galleries, and be encouraged to exhibit in professional spaces across New York City and New Jersey. You'll learn from award-winning and internationally exhibiting faculty who are active practitioners in the fields they teach, and connect with working artists, designers, historians, fashion professionals, critics, and curators through courses and department events.

All programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). To learn more, visit us.
