All international students at Montclair State University are required to have health insurance coverage, regardless of number of credits.

Waiving Montclair’s Insurance Coverage
In some cases, students may be allowed to waive Montclair’s coverage. Note that there is no guarantee that any requests for waivers will be approved.
F-1 students: You can apply to waive the enrollment through the website:
***Government-subsidized insurance is not considered an acceptable waiver.***
Key Points to Know
- You will be automatically enrolled in our plan, there is no need to fill out an additional form.
- The insurance coverage charge will be added to your bill. Check your account through NEST to see your charge.
- The Office of Global Engagement cannot provide information about coverage and benefits. For questions, students must contact info@univhealthplans.com.
Downloading Your Insurance Card
Students are encouraged to download their insurance cards as soon as possible. Physical cards will no longer be mailed. Whenever visiting a doctor or hospital, you will be required to show your insurance card. Make sure you have it with you at all times.

Step 2 - Type in Montclair State University in the "find your school" area
Step 3 - A new page will appear, scroll down to get more information about finding a doctor, details of your plan, or to download your card.
