Homecoming 2026: Come Home to Montclair

Mark your calendar for Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, because Homecoming is back—and this year's celebration promises a weekend filled with Red Hawk pride, unforgettable traditions and fun for every generation.

Whether you're returning to campus for the first time in years or making Homecoming an annual tradition, there's no better time to reconnect with classmates, revisit your favorite places and create new memories with family and friends. From spirited athletic events and live entertainment to delicious food, games and activities for all ages, Homecoming is where the Montclair community comes together.

"There's nothing quite like Homecoming," says Cynthia Watson ’99, Foundation Board Member. “The excitement on campus, the football game, the Alumni BBQ and seeing generations of Red Hawks celebrating together make it one of my favorite weekends of the year. It's impossible not to leave feeling proud to be a Montclair alumna."

Friday Night: Kick Off the Celebration at the Bloomfield Campus

The festivities begin Friday evening at the Bloomfield College of Montclair State University campus, where alumni can cheer on the annual men's and women's basketball games before gathering for the All Alumni Celebration.

The evening also includes a special reunion pinning ceremony honoring graduates celebrating their 10th, 25th and 50th class reunions. It's the perfect way to reconnect with old friends, make new memories and start an exciting Homecoming weekend.

Saturday: The Heart of Homecoming

On Saturday, the Montclair campus transforms into a festival of Red Hawk pride.

Spend the day exploring the lively street fair, enjoying live performances, discovering family-friendly activities and cheering on our student-athletes at field hockey, women's soccer and football. Everywhere you turn, you'll find music, games, school spirit and opportunities to celebrate what makes Montclair special.

At the center of it all is the Alumni BBQ — the signature gathering of Homecoming and the place every Red Hawk should be. Bring the whole family and enjoy great food, local breweries, lawn games, crafts for kids and plenty of opportunities to reconnect with classmates, faculty and friends. Whether you're catching up with roommates, introducing your children to your alma mater or simply soaking in the Homecoming atmosphere, the Alumni BBQ is where the Montclair community comes together.

"It's the perfect chance to reconnect, reminisce and see how far we've all come—and how much the campus has grown with us," said Ian Honauer '10 '18 MBA. "I can't wait to catch up and celebrate everything that made our time at Montclair so memorable."
