Exploring your future starts with you—your interests, your goals, and what excites you most. In the Discovery Program, we take a personalized approach to career and major exploration so you can explore paths that feel right for you or discover something new. Career exploration is a journey, and it's okay if you don't have all the answers yet. We'll help you explore career possibilities, connect your interests to academic pathways, and make informed decisions about your future.

Our team offers personalized one-on-one career advising, guidance for finding on-campus jobs, and opportunities to enhance your skills through our Skills for Success Workshops. Choosing a major is about more than selecting an academic program. It's about discovering opportunities that align with your goals. We'll help you explore different pathways, connecting majors to potential careers, and build a plan for moving forward.

Events and Opportunities to Connect

Throughout the year, we host signature experiences like Academic Exploration Week (held annually in the fall) and Crash-A-Class (held every semester) that help you learn about different majors, minors, careers and campus resources. In addition, we host several career-focused panels and workshops, including our Major and Career Exploration Talks which invite industry professionals and recent alumni to connect and share their career exploration journeys. Our programs and events offer:

  • Enhanced skill development, like decision-making, time management, interview tips and more.
  • Networking opportunities by introducing you to industry professionals, recent alumni, peers and faculty and staff.
  • Early career readiness support, including resume review, informational interviewing and practicing your "elevator pitch."
