Privileges and Benefits

University ID card

One of the privileges and benefits is a University ID card. This photo ID card is especially useful if you are planning to use the university library.

To obtain this card, call ahead to make an appointment 973 655-4147. Visit the lower level of the Student Center, past the Computer Room, to have your photo taken and your card issued. Please bring a valid photo ID (e.g., driver's license). The Emeriti Association recommends including the following three lines on the card:

Library Privileges

Emeritus Faculty will be extended the same borrowing privileges as full time and adjunct faculty, staff, graduate assistants and MSU doctoral students.  Materials may be borrowed upon presentation of a Montclair State ID. Emeritus Faculty are subject to all policies related to the library.

Parking Privileges

General Surface Parking Lots

Emeriti are entitled to receive hanging parking tags permitting parking in all general surface parking lots. These lots are coded in yellow on the Montclair State University Parking Map. This map is also available in the Parking Services Office located on the ground floor of the Red Hawk Parking Deck.

Parking for the Handicapped

Emeriti with a valid state-issued disability hanging tag or license plate may use designated accessible parking areas on campus (excluding the Red Hawk Deck). The disability permit must be registered with Parking Services and displayed along with your Montclair State parking permit at all times. Accessible parking locations are marked in green on the campus parking map, available from Parking Services.

Red Hawk Parking Deck

There are no emeriti privileges for the Red Hawk Parking Deck. For Kasser Theater performances, parking on Level 4 provides convenient access. To avoid lines after the show, consider paying for parking at the box office before the performance.
