Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan is available to current students, faculty, staff, and emeriti at Montclair State University. If you are not included in this list, please contact your local public library for interlibrary loan services.
Borrowing materials is free of charge. You must have an active NetID and a library account in good standing.
There are various ways to request materials from outside of our libraries. Check the status of your requests, retrieve articles, and renew loans through our user portal.

Books & Media
EZBorrow is the fastest interlibrary lending solution that lets students, faculty & staff affiliated with participating colleges and universities to request, and obtain physical library resources (e.g. books, media).
- Request an item through EZBorrow (preferred option)
- For items not available through EZBorrow, request through our ILL form.
How does EZBorrow work?
- If Montclair State University does not have a resource you are looking for, search for it using EZBorrow.
- Your requested resource is shipped out by the partner library.
- You will be notified by email in 5 – 7 business days that your resource has arrived.
- Pick up your resource at your selected library. You will have 16 weeks to return it.

Copyright
By utilizing this service, you are agreeing to abide by Title 17 of the U.S. Code, which governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use”, that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
