Step into the world of entrepreneurship and business ownership with Montclair State University’s Franchising & the Business Ownership Experience. Designed for international undergraduate students, this two-week summer program explores how some of the world’s most recognizable brands use franchising to grow, scale, and enter new markets.

Through classroom learning, company visits, conversations with industry professionals, and experiences throughout the New York City metropolitan area, students will discover what it takes to build, operate, and grow a successful franchise business.

Program Highlights

  • Explore the fundamentals of franchising and what it takes to buy and operate a franchise.

Academic Experience

Program Details

Dates: July 12 – July 23, 2027

  • Check-in: July 11 (Sunday)
  • Check-out: July 24 (Saturday)

Location: Montclair State University, New Jersey, just outside New York City.

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18+
  • English proficiency: TOEFL 70+, IELTS 6.0+, or Duolingo 95+
  • Must have a valid U.S. Tourist Visa

Cost: $3,300 USD
International airfare and personal expenses are not included.

Payment Schedule:

  • $1,000 – Due upon acceptance
  • $2,300 – Due by the end of April
