Refill your water bottle, earn rewards, and donate to a good cause
We’ve partnered with Fill it Forward to encourage our students, faculty, and staff to choose reusable water bottles over single-use plastic bottles.
Fill it Forward works with charitable partners to make a difference around the world. Each time you refill your bottle and scan the QR code posted at the bottle filler, you’ll unlock a “donation” that will be given to a charitable organization. It costs you nothing but makes a huge difference to those in need! Be a part of the Montclair Fill it Forward team!
Welcome Week +1 Fill it Forward Prize Drawing!
Montclair needs your help to make the world more sustainable. You have the power to be +1 for the planet by downloading the Fill it Forward app and joining the Montclair community. Every time you refill your water bottle just scan the FIF QR Code using the app and your +1 will add up with others to help.
During Welcome Week, August 17 - 26, each scan earns an entry into the Welcome Week +1 Fill it Forward Prize Drawing!
- 6 winners will receive a Prize Pack containing a Montclair Sustainability t-shirt, Klean Kanteen water bottle, journal, stickers, and a Lego Rocky!
- 1 grand prize winner will receive all of the above plus additional swag from campus offices!
- Winners will be randomly drawn on August 27 and contacted via email.

By downloading the Fill it Forward app from the App Store or Google Play and signing up using your Montclair email account, you’ll be able to
- join the “Red Hawks Reuse” group and track our collective environmental impact
- track your individual environmental impact
- contribute to meaningful charitable projects
- get automatic entry into our prize drawings each time you scan the QR code
If you don't download the app, you can still can the QR code with your phone's camera to unlock the donation via internet browser. You'll contribute to charitable projects, but you won't get the benefits from the app.
Find a Bottle Filling Station
Why buy when you can get cool, filtered water for free?
You don’t need to buy bottled water on campus. Bottle fillers have been installed in most buildings on campus and we encourage you to carry a reusable bottle to stay hydrated while you’re here.
In the app, click Community, then click Map to find bottle fillers wherever you are.
What if I'm not on campus?
Get a QR code sticker for your water bottle from the Student Center Information Desk or Cole Hall 349.
